Our Story

Innovation

Determined to do more, I decided to learn how to produce washable, reusable pads here in Switzerland. I wanted to create a solution that would not only meet the high demand but also promote sustainability and self-reliance. After months of trial, and error, I developed a high-quality washable pad that was both durable and affordable.

Collaboration

This marked the beginning of Dorena Pads, named after my own journey and the vision to empower girls and women to manage menstruation with dignity. Today, DoreNapads continues to grow, combining education, advocacy, and sustainable menstrual products to ensure that no girl is left behind because of her period.
Dorena pads is not just about providing pads—it’s about breaking the cycle of shame, giving girls the confidence to stay in school, and creating a future where menstruation is no longer a barrier to opportunity.

Our onward Journey

As of 2022, we’ve started training local trainees to sew these pads, empowering adolescent girls, boys, mothers, and the wider community while ensuring continuous training in other communities and ensuring education.
